Appalachia, Magoffin County, Kentucky
This December Delbarton High School, located in Morristown, will travel to Kentucky to bring some Christmas Cheer to a region that would not otherwise experience it. With a poverty rate of over thirty five percent, this county ranks as the second poorest in America.
Each year a select group of volunteers, from Delbarton's Junior class, fill two or three tractor trailers with "new" toys, sporting equipment and blankets and coats/jackets that they've collected from all over the state, for distribution to the children and the Moms of Magoffin County.
As such we've placed a Big Orange Box in the Lounge area of Pepe's in order to collect "new" blankets, toys, jackets/coats, and sporting equipment. Please only new items.
We've been told that the Moms, even though they don't admit it outwardly, really appreciate the blankets and jackets.
Final day of collection is December 10, with the trucks leaving for Kentucky on December 12.
Sometimes giving is better than receiving; so lets try to help out some honorable families who are much less fortunate than ourselves. Thanks!!!
If you've read this far it must mean you care and so.....
anyone who donates will receive a digit for an Adult Beverage at Pepe's.
God Bless.
